How big are your Alfajores?

Approximately 5cm in diameter and 2.5cm tall. Each alfajor can weigh 30g-50g (depending on flavour).

How are your Alfajores packaged?

All our alfajores are packaged in premium glossy white gift boxes, available in sets of 12 or 24. Pictures of our gift boxes can be seen on our products page!

Where are your Alfajores made?

'La Gordita Alfajores' is a council approved and registered home based business located in Merrylands.

What is the best way to store Alfajores?

To maintain freshness and flavor, store alfajores in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent melting.

Consume them within 5-7 days of purchase. If you’d like to savor them a little longer, they can be kept in the fridge for up to two weeks or frozen for up to three months, just allow them to come to room temperature before serving.

What is chocolate blooming and is it safe to eat?

As our alfajores are handcrafted, you may occasionally notice faint white streaks on the surface of the chocolate. This is known as chocolate bloom.

Bloom occurs when either fat or sugar rises to the surface due to changes in temperature or humidity. While it may slightly affect the appearance, it is entirely harmless and does not impact the taste or quality of the product.

What days can I pre-order?

As a dedicated and small business, we’re pleased to offer pre-order services for local delivery or pickup at our Merrylands location on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 9 AM and 11 AM. We kindly ask for a minimum of 2 days' notice.

If you are unable to select your preferred date, it means the date is currently unavailable due to a blockout period.

Please note that pre-orders are not yet available for Monday through Thursday, but we look forward to serving you on the weekends!

What is the cost for Local Delivery and Pick Up?

We offer complimentary delivery for orders within a 10km radius of Merrylands or for orders over $150.

For orders under $150, a $15 delivery fee applies for locations between 10km and 20km, and a $20 delivery fee applies for distances between 20km and 30km.

Regrettably, we are unable to provide delivery services beyond a 30km radius; however, our pickup option remains free of charge.

What if I'm not at home to accept the delivery?

We recommend providing any specific delivery instructions at checkout to help ensure a smooth delivery. If you’re not available at the time of delivery, the courier will typically leave the package in a safe place. However, if a safe location is not available, the package may be returned to Merrylands and pick up will need to be arranged.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • For Sydney CBD and apartments, please meet the driver outside on the street as we are unable to enter buildings due to security and access restrictions.
  • Once our driver leaves, we cannot return to your location.
  • We do not offer refunds for missed deliveries.
  • Delivery addresses cannot be changed after the order has been placed.

Do you offer large orders for special events?

Absolutely! We welcome large orders for special events. Please reach out to us ahead of time to discuss your needs and to check availability.

Do you offer any gluten free or vegan options?

At this time, we do not have gluten-free or vegan options available. We appreciate your understanding and are always exploring ways to expand our offerings in the future.

Please note that our alfajores contain the following: Milk, Egg, Wheat and Gluten.

May contain traces of tree nuts and peanuts from cross contamination in our kitchen.

What are your Terms and Conditions?

Refunds

We do not offer refunds. However, if there is a reason you're not satisfied with your order, please email us immediately at info@lagorditaalfajores.com.au and we will look into resolving the issue.

Deliveries

If you’re not available at the time of delivery, the courier will typically leave the package in a safe place. However, if a safe location is not available, the package may be returned to Merrylands and pick up will need to be arranged. Additionally:

  • Once our driver leaves, we cannot return to your location.
  • We do not offer refunds for missed deliveries.

Damaged/Lost Goods

We endeavour to ensure that our products arrive to you in the same condition in which they leave our kitchen. We package our products carefully to protect them from any damage which may occur in transit. However we do not accept any liability for damage to goods which may occur once they have left our location.
